What We Do

What We Do

Know & Engage Neighbors

  • Neighborhood Newsletter: We create and distribute a monthly Neighborhood Newsletter for all Milo-Grogan neighbors. We hand out newsletters door-to-door the first week of each month.

  • Resource Guide: We are in the process of developing an all-encompassing resource guide for old & new neighbors. In the meantime, contact us if you need connected to city-wide resources for your family, house, property, etc.

Foster Leadership

  • Launched Rooted, an innovative year-long internship and leadership development program for young adults

  • Build Up Civic Association:

    • Partnering to apply for and implement Back to Strong & Ready to Grow grant programming. We’re on our third year!

    • Engage and organize neighborhood participation & Civic committees

Vibrant Economic Development

  • Milo-Grogan Green Space: We partnered with the Civic Association to create this neighborhood park, located on the corner of Starr Ave and Cleveland Ave. We have weekly work days, from Spring-Fall, to take care of this beautiful Green Space with vegetables, flowers, herbs, benches, picnic tables, a mural, and more. All neighbors are welcome to enjoy this park!

  • Senior Citizen Emergency Assistance Fund: This fund was specifically created to address emergency needs that senior citizens in the neighborhood may experience year round. Contact amy@cultivatecdc.com, 814-233-7408, if you would like to know more information.
